So I’ve been on Diamox since July and my dose has varied between 250mg twice a day to 500mg twice a day and now I’m on 250mg morning and 500mg evening due to the side effects I was having. Most side effects I’ve had I can tolerate and have gone away, I still can’t drink soda but that’s something I’m happy to live without but what I cannot bear is the insane amount of leg pain that I have. It’s almost as if all muscle mass has gone from my legs. They permanently ache and I find that if I sit or stand for prolonged periods of time they start to seize up. Walking up flights of stairs is extremely painful and they are left burning. Before this I was active in the gym and my exercise tolerance was quite high but since Diamox it’s absolutely ruining my life. Has anyone else experienced this with taking this medication? I know I can be switched onto Topamax but I am reluctant to do that due to being of child bearing age and wanting a family in the near future. I’m also quite annoyed I had an appointment with my neurologist but was told to just continue with this medication despite no investigation as to whether my condition has gone into remission.
