I made the mistake of searching vp shunt on TikTok and now I’m beyond horrified. Is recovery really excruciating? a lot of people were mentioning tube pain when trying to eat, walk, sleep, etc. what has been the worst part for you? any tips/advice/words of encouragement? I have an extremely low pain tolerance and I also already have a heavy amount of medical trauma, so I’m very worried about how I’ll be able to handle all of this. I also just discovered a vp shunt needs to be replaced every few years??? Someone tell me that’s not true. I’m also curious about limitations for activities. I read something about no twisting at the hips or rollercoasters? What else do we have to give up? Can’t even be choked in bed anymore?! Cmon! Anyways, I’d love to hear from folks who’ve recently gotten a vp shunt and from those who’ve had one for years! Thanks in advance!
