When I was a toddler I was prescribed Septra/Bactrim (a common antibiotic from my understanding) and it caused me to stop breathing. This was 30 years ago. And I understand we outgrow allergies as adults all the time.
I am taking Topamax and have ramped up to 100mg. I'm about to add Diamox and will ramp up to 500mg.
From my reading these are sulfa meds. And I'm not having the same reaction obviously. But I am having some itchiness on my belly and some joint pain.
Is anyone else sensitive to sulfa but not in a dangerous way? Have you found other options? Is my understanding of the meds correct? I'm new to all this so it's a lot of info to take in I might have mistaken something along the way.
