Im a programmer by trade, in mid 30s, so sitting for long periods of time in my bad habit. Over this quarantine I decided to improve my flexibility and strength. I started by following Tom Merricks stretching, flexibility tutorials along with strength exercise.
Its during this that I discovered that when doing anything hamstring related, I feel it most in the calves. Not in the knee, but right in the calf ( on both legs ). When i bent my leg at the knee, then I could feel it right in the hamstring. I read the wiki and they recommended keeping the knee straight, but till I dont bend the knee I never feel it in the hamstring.
Reading some more it seems the issue can be tightness in calves, weakness in hips, sciatic nerve issues etc. Is there any way I can test where and narrow down where the issue is ? Any recommendations for other exercises, stretches I should do to chart a go forward plan.
