Separated Shoulders (need advice)
Post Body

Hey All,

I've been on a weight loss journey to become healthier since September 2020. I had to take a break due to work through the winter, but this week was my first week back. I'm looking for advice on alternatives to freeweight bench and incline bench press.

I used to play rugby and separated both my shoulders in my playing career. I've lost some range of motion/mobility when weight is added. It's like my shoulder gets locked up, before lock out. I'm not getting the most out of my benches, because I dramatically have to reduce the weight. It's not only unsafe, but really just more worried about my shoulders locking than actually lifting.

Military press seems to be ok for now, as I can move my shoulders around to "unlock" them while holding the weight.

In most cases my left shoulder seems to lag behind my right. Are there any other exercises I could do to get the same results?
