Constantly straining my traps

In the title. About once a month I’ll either pull or strain my left trap. What’s this about? Is it a muscle imbalance, tightness, maybe flexibility issue? Any physios here that can weigh in?

It’s never enough to miss training but I’ll have pain when turning my head for a few days. Rest and ice typically clears it up in 48 hours.
