Even when I used to workout 6x/week and had upper body days, I still felt like my upper body strength wasn't that great. I'm pretty happy with my lower body strength though. I think I was at my best for upper body strength when I did CrossFit 5x/week. I think the cleans, snatches and 30 reps barbell press to failure really did help. Unfortunately, I don't have access to too much equipment anymore but I do have a pull-up machine, 20lb dumbbells and resistance bands.
Currently, I do full-body weight lifting 3x/week, and kickboxing and krav maga 2x/week. I'm wondering if it's better to incorporate more upper body workouts into my weightlifting days or is it better to do a little bit of upper body everyday? I heard of people doing the pushup challenge, doing 100 pushups a day. Not sure how to go about this. I think my shoulders and upper back need the most work.
