First time working out in 5+ years. Any advice for a newbie?
Post Body

I’m finally getting back in the gym after years of not working out/being active. Even when I did work out before it would only last a few months before I fell off the wagon again. I’m determined not to let that happen this time.

I’m probably 20lbs overweight and have terrible endurance. Couldn’t run more than a 1/4” mile before needing to stop and catch my breathe.

I’d like to put on some muscle and get my cardio back in decent shape where I can run 4-5 miles without stopping.

Any advice for someone getting into fitness? Lessons learned or advice to help stick to your goals?
