Today I start... 612lbs this morning
Post Body

Hello all,

I am writing this to mark when I quit saying I'll do it tomorrow, I'll start monday, Oh I forgot I was trying to keto/OMAD. I finally broke 600 and something has to change.

I started my fasting clock last night as I went to bed (yay free 8hrs) and honestly I'm so mad at myself I don't know when I will stop. I think it's easiest for me to just say no to EVERYTHING as there are so many temptations. I don't really know how to do this water fast thing but I've always been a jump in with both feet type of person so here goes.

If you have any advice or tips please let me know. I know that I will need vitamins and electrolytes starting day 3 and not push myself too hard (although at this weight almost anything is *hard*). This is not a throwaway and I will be following through and updating to keep myself accountable.

Thank you for all the inspiration from this sub!

EDIT: Your are all amazing. I expected maybe 1-2 comments and to fade away. I will be updating periodically, I promise you that. Everyone's advice and encouragement mean so much to me.

My goal is 280lbs. I have a honeymoon adventure in may of next year so I am doing this to get to that. I'm cold Turkey into water fasting, I did keto successfully before but gained the weight back. This time I will not gain it back or stop before medical makes me or I reach my goal.

Edit 2: Thank you for the gold! I promise not to eat it although it's looking tasty today.

Thank you all for the encouragement!

I dont really have an end in mind, I'm going to try and push for as long as possible. I think I will beat the 72 hrs mark so I need to invest in some salts it seems.

Thank you for all your advice and help!

My doctor just referred me to a surgical center that told me they couldn't help me until I weighed 450.

Bloodwork is good for someone my size (I've been blessed with good genes). Barely pre-diabetic, cholesterol is very slightly out of normal range, heart is good, blood pressure is high but being treated with lisinopril.

Wake up, go to work, hungry on the drive in so you stop and grab a breakfast burrito. Lunch rolls around and you didnt prep because of many reasons so you run to taco bell and head back to your job. Head home sometimes on time sometimes way past time, and you have run out of give a fucks for the day.

But wait you still have to parent a special needs child, plan and cook dinner, spend time with the family, and maybe get some down time for yourself.

In all that day to day it's just easier to grab fast food or order something than add more to my day. Is it an excuse? Yeah it totally is. Is it real life? Yeah and it answers your question as to how.

In less than a year I changed careers, more than doubled my salary, led project teams, changed jobs twice, and learned everything I've needed so far to be successful in my new field.

Living with a focus only on career has put my health which was already not good on the back burner. Now, I'm fixing that.

I'm ok, sleeping more than normal and just fighting for tomorrow. If it's not better tomorrow I'm going to have a Keto dinner.

Yay! I just moved here from Denver. I'm so hungry but I'm gonna keep pushing. I keep hearing the hunger goes away after day 4. So I'm focused just getting adjusted and moving forward from there!

Download the LIFE app, everytime I pass the pantry I just look at my timer and take a sip of water lol

Same! 29 years old, heading for 30. No heart issues yet on my end but good lord I know doing this will hopefully squeeze out a few more years.

Thank you for the kind words! I want to get back to biking but will have to wait until about 450.
