I know that we can't give medical advice here, so I'm hoping at least someone else has had this experience. Or if this is something I should be concerned about, maybe someone can at least give me the heads up. I'll try not to ramble, but fair warning, I feel like death. So it may not be coherent.
So I'm a lifelong non-smoker, but I have chronic bronchitis. No cigarettes, no cigars, cigarillos, no MJ, no vaping, absolutely nothing. Bronchitis has plagued me my entire life, regardless of my environment and any other external factors. I always stay sicker for longer than others do, and the symptoms are always worse than others. It could be CVID, and I'm doing the best I can to look into that.
Anyway, I recently came down with bronchitis for the millionth time. I was able to get to urgent care and get meds, which were Amoxicillin, NoHist, and Prednisone. I finished all my medication, and I took each dose at exactly the same times each day. I never missed a dose. I also made sure to keep my humidifier going, drink tons of electrolytes (drink mixes, not sports drinks), and I ate a cup o' noodles and some crackers with my first and second doses each day. Not the healthiest, but it's what I could afford. Dinner each night was substantial, so I didn't worry. My bronchitis symptoms improved.
But 4 days ago, I finished off all my medication, and I feel like walking death. I have non-stop migraines, I'm so weak I can barely function, and my heart is pounding erratically like a bass drum. It's not beating quickly, mind you. But my body is acting like I just ran a marathon. I'm extra brain foggy, I feel hot, and I just feel like hell. I thought maybe I needed some substantial nutrition, so I got a friend to drop off some healthy foods. I ate 2 bananas and drank a Body Armor, and initially felt better. I then had the worst, most painful GI attack I've had in months. After that subsided, I started feeling terrible again, so I tried again with another banana and Body Armor. It has had no effect. I still feel terrible, and now my stomach hurts, too.
I know that some EDS patients take longer to recover, it's just . . . . I don't have bronchitis symptoms anymore. I just feel like a new kind of terrible. Sorry this is so long. I feel like I got run over. Hoping someone can help.
Thanks!
