Warning: This post contains a discussion about menstruation. All tactful comments are welcome, but if such topics make you uncomfortable, you may not want to read this post. I will still try to be as delicate as I can, but some of this may still be "TMI."
So I need to talk about this. For those of us who are menstruating, do you find that EDS affects your "time of the month" experience? Maybe your cramps are worse, maybe your periods are erratic. I've had the occasional late or absent period myself.
99% of my periods are heavy. Not like endometriosis heavy, but heavy. My most recent period began 2 days ago, and it was just as heavy as it normally is, but there was a difference. This time, the consistency and color is weird. I've read that some variation in both is normal, but this has me a little concerned. It has been both heavy and almost-black at the beginning of the period. Most of the time, when it's dark brown or almost-black, it's usually lighter in flow or towards the end. But not for me. This time, it was almost black, completely heavy, and has been like this the whole time. If you need further details, you can read my similar TMI post here.
Thanks for the help, and again, I apologize if any of this was uncomfortable or offensive for anyone.
