Is anyone still able to be in the gym regularly?

I used to be an athlete and worked out just about every day, then my health took a turn for the worse and now Iā€™m out of shape. I want to get back to working out again, but I want to do so without further injuring my joints. Iā€™d love to hear if any of you are still able to get fitness time in, however flexible it may be.
