Before discussing mental health became more of a thing, when dpdr first occurred for my when I tried to explain the feeling to my parents I told them it was Coraline. That I’m in a familiar world and it seems like the real world and you’re standing here (talking to my mom) and your my mom but your my other mom….
That’s how I’ve always described it and it only gets worse when I bring this up every time and they just laugh and assume it’s “same ol daughter always talking crazy” but then that’s when I get HELLA suspicious that she is the other mother at the time because she would play it off like they aren’t even listening or they are listening to a child. Just entertaining them.
Last year my mom even put two button magnets on the fridge secretly and I spotted them immediately like haha yeah kind of funny but also… bro not really…
And I’ve gotten to the point that if no one is going to try and help or comfort me then I’m embracing the chaos. Let’s light this candle!
Anyway I just need to know if anyone has ever used this or other specific examples to explain what they were experiencing?
