Just got a Victorinox 8" Chef Knife, seems duller than I expected

Post Body

As the title says, I just got my first real Chef Knife (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000638D32), and it doesn't really seem to be as sharp as I was expecting based on the reviews and stuff I've read. Do these need to be sharpened right out of the box? I got a sharpening stone to go with it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BB1ZDVW), but have never really used one before. I got this knife as kind of my starter knife on my journey into the dizzying world of kitchen knives, I just want to make sure I'm starting off right.
