I see a lot of people talking about how the Apple Watch underestimates deep sleep, and thought to draw attention to this paper from Apple that breaks down stage accuracy. Page six shows that deep sleep is only accurate 62% of the time on average, with the other 38% being misinterpreted as core sleep.
To get a closer estimation of your deep sleep, take the deep sleep time, multiply by 100, and divide by 62.
I can hold my arm still and it thinks Iβm asleep. Itβs why I wear it and my whoop. I need my notifications and things from it, but whoop for health and sleep
