I'll never be able to afford the full "Don't Die" protocol and will (most likely) die
Post Body

Bryan Johnson has more than implied that his ultimate goal is to solve the issue of mortality. I think Bryan fears death and sincerely believes with science, algorithms, and advanced knowledge via AI that he can avoid aging. He flies to Mexico for gene therapy. Injects cerebrolysin for brain health. Uses precise, high tech measuring tools to guide his protocol. He has scientists and physicians on call, at his service, and he has professional chefs, personal assistants, and videographers to alleviate the stress of responsibilities in his life.

Bryan has graciously made a lot of this information available to humanity. He's also (seemingly) graciously spent time, money, and energy investing in products that are affordable to many (though still expensive for most). However, his products will turn a profit and help subsidize his reverse/anti-aging endeavors for the long haul.

It feels like we're just doing what the majority of humanity does in this world: supporting, subsidizing, and laboring for the benefit of a few wealthy, elite, and exclusive people. Sometimes it seems like I am engaging in a scheme to add to Bryan's value that might work for him but will in all actuality not work for me.

This is more of a vent and not really a question. I just wonder if anyone else worries about the same and how they negotiate the idea that death is inevitable. I don't believe that focusing on maximizing health and longevity is truly the purpose of Blueprint. As Bryan emphasizes every time he's in front of a camera: this is about "Don't Die" in the realistic sense that it is an achievable goal.

It is an achievable goal, there’s plenty of smaller steps that can be taken that can have a huge impact. Sure I had to cut a few costs like eating out, app subscriptions, but those are better for the long run and it’s money I would have spent anyways. Changing what you eat, even a small amount can have an impact. Buy veggies instead of a soda kind of ordeal. 🙂 I have seen a massive impact and change in my life. And I am not wealthy.

I mean it’s a step in the right direction,

Instead you could have spent the money on Taco Bell, which would have been a step in the opposite direction. imagine every decision has a time cost on it. Eating xzy shortens your lifespan probability by 3 minutes. Choosing xzy instead adds a probable 3 minutes.

Will we avoid death in the long run? Maybe. technology is always expanding and we may see the end of it in our lifetime. So I’m going to do all I can to extend and improve my health in the meantime until that becomes a viable option.
