I read Peter Attia's Outlive recently and really loved his section on mental health. I thought it was the best way to wrap up the approach for it to be completely holistic.
I've heard Bryan talk about building alignment from the cellular level up and into the world to solve big problems.
He posted today that depression had him in a choke hold for 10 years and he wanted to die.
I'm wondering why the blueprint do not include any kind of mental health interventions (to my knowledge).
Did I miss something?
Is it because mental health intervention can't be as well measured on one individual as the biology side?
Is Bryan showing that perhaps you can get out of depression without those interventions by taking an extremely body-based approach?
Or did his project start after he had worked otherwise to get out of his depression?
This makes me ask myself bigger questions about what we see from the blueprint: the baseline Bryan's effort are compared to (i.e. what what his state when he started) are very important to validate the conclusions we could derive on the magnitude of the effect of his interventions.
I'm very curious to know what got Bryan out of his depression and onto this path! One could pose the hypothesis that becoming a longevity athlete and dream crazy dreams like Bryan's can only be rooted in mental sickness. I'm sure the answer is more nuanced.
And I'm also curious to know if Bryan has a psychologist or a therapist, for example, along his slew of highly trained medical professionals on the payroll.
