Flour price increase
Post Body

Anyone else have an increase in their flour prices? Mine went up 30% from last week, we mainly use all trumps unbleached. I guess there are environmental issues that have cause some supply shortages. We have been able to last this whole pandemic without having to raise prices, but looks like that's going to change.

We use King Arthur 50#, and ours went up by $2 a bag a few weeks ago. I’m putting an order in at the beginning of next week so I’ll update once I get those prices.

Here’s a link to a very detailed article about the reasons for the price increases. It’s environmental factors coupled with supply chain issues and other things.

We do a cost analysis at the beginning of each year and typically adjust prices, but we actually did a review this year in March and upped the price of most of our pastries. I’ve had very few customers say anything about the increase, so hopefully your customers will be understanding. We also didn’t announce it via social media or anything, but I’ve seen some small businesses do that and their customers seem to be very supportive.
