Hi all,

I have a tendency to swing between Chinese and Indian teachings when it comes to my spiritual practices because I have an affinity with both (usually dependent on the weather 😅). As the years go by I'm seeing more and more similarities in practices and their motivations and benefits, so lately I've been trying to apply a qigong-style (slow, gentle, controlled) approach to the series and it's working wonders.

Since my motive is to become so in-tune with my body that I can move completely according to the state of the body and breath, I've considered timing my breathing with my heartbeat instead of arbitrarily counting "one, two, three, four, five..." I tried it with pranayama once and it was difficult but interesting. Has anyone tried anything like this with asana/vinyasa?

Edit for clarification: eg. Inhale for 5 heartbeats, exhale for 5 heartbeats.
