Recommendations on improving setup
Post Body

Hey All,

Hoping for some veteran advice on my aquaponic setup.

The attached picture is how I currently have my new setup (Chop and flip with 2 beds each, it's mirrored and unconnected to each other, currently flood & drain with bell syphon.

I've been fishless cycling for a few weeks, but with the amount of water evaporation and talk of adding buffers/acids into a sump instead of the fish tanks, I wanted to get some advice before I go too much further.

Would you implement a sump?If yes, would you keep them separate and use a different sump for each tank? or one IBC between them and have a solids lifting pipe from each tank into the sump?

If yes for a sump, would you still drop the water straight into the fish tanks from the beds which will overflow into the sump, and pump from the sump into the solid filters above?
