financial abuse... but in reverse
Post Body

I'm slowly opening my eyes to the emotional abuse I live with, but I'm struggling to understand the financial aspects.

I know how 'traditional' financial abuse works, but my situation seems to be the opposite.

I am the partner who works full time and earns most of our income. The issue is that my partner has never had a bank account. His wages are paid into my account, and he has a card for that account which he can use as he please. I'm also the one who pays all the bills for the same reason.

I have asked him to open a bank account, but he says things are fine as they are.

But now how do I leave? The man can't pay a bill. He can't even do online shopping. It's exhausting being treated line a mother and a child at the same time.
