“I’ll say you did it”

So let me start this by saying my ex gf of three years was very emotionally, physically, and verbally abusive. I plan to put more on this subreddit because I feel like no-one takes me seriously when I talk about the things she put me through. So today I’m going to talk about the time my ex hurt herself so bad I had to take her to the emergency room to get stitches in her head and she threatened to tell them I did it to her. So earlier in 2021 ( medical bill that I got stuck with says February) I was working 60 hours a week at two different jobs to support me and my then girlfriend (I paid all the bills even though she was on unemployment because of COVID, and couldn’t get on it cause I worked for a private owner/business) I was in the middle of a 10 hour shift and me and my ex were having a pretty heated argument over text because the night before she had put hands on me and I came around and said I was so tired of her treating me bad and treating our relationship like a chore. I was a mess for the majority of the day and in my manic state I told her I was considering leaving, her response was to call me in tears on face time with blood running down the right side of her face. She had taken her phone and hit herself so hard on the side of the head that it caused a pretty deep laceration. I panic and am telling my boss I needed to leave but I would come back (I lived about 5 min from our apartment and the ER/urgent care was right down the road) I sped home doing easily getting there in a matter of minutes and went inside to her screaming and crying about how this is my fault. She proceeds to slam the bedroom door in my face and is screaming about how it’s my fault she did this and that it’s my fault that she acts this way(throw some suicidal threats in the mix as well). I’m freaking out push through the bedroom door and she’s on the bed hitting me while I try to look at her head and I’m eventually able to calm her down enough to wipe some of the blood away to see what the damage was. Needless to say she needed to go to a doctor and fast so I got her up, put her in the car and hauled ass to the ER, I’m silent and she was sniffling and in the silence she said “I could tell them you did this and they’d believe it” I was completely dumbfounded and my heart sank. We went into the ER and once we saw someone everyone looked at me like I did this to her. I felt like I was going to be sick when they asked me to leave the room because I knew what they were going to ask her. When she came out to the lobby i could feel everyone’s eyes on me ,and in that moment I was expecting a cop to walk in at any second. They called me up to to the desk , I gave them my insurance and payment info, and we left. 7 stitches to the side of her head and a whole panic attack later I took her home and had to go back to work and got bitched at by my boss for taking so long and coming back with blood on my work shirt. I’ll never forget when I got home after that shift and she said I should thank her for not saying it was me that did it to her. After a few more pretty rough incidents I finally had enough, packed everything I owned and moved states. Thank you guys if you read, a lot of this shit is hard to talk about and as a man nobody takes it seriously. Godspeed friends, if you want to hear more stories let me know
