Advise for DV case

Hi! I recently went to talk with police within the jurisdiction my abusive relationship took place, though (fortunately) I've never had to go through this process before now.
What i would like advice on is building a sound dv/animal abuse case or at least not getting the police to brush me off again. I have videos & photos but being a poc & female presenting isn't helping my case so help me to be taken seriously please.
