Edit: I meant Ronan the Accuser, not Hawkeye

In 2012, Thanos decides to send Ronin to Earth in order to get the Space Stone. Later in 2014, he sends Loki after the Power Stone. How does this swap change the MCU?

Buuuut he has the Dark Aster, his warship, which utterly fucks. Plus his army aren't mothership controlled drones streaming in through a chokepoint; they're all right there, able to rain fire on any target.

I agree. However this is basically the exact same situation Danvers and Fury were in back when they first met. So it stands to reason that before she left Earth she would have mentioned Ronan and the Kree to him as a part of giving him the pager to contact her should he ever return - indeed it's possibly part of the reason she did because it took her threatening him directly to get him to go. So had Fury observed it was Ronan and his ship back in town he wouldn't have hesitated in paging her which would have totally changed the game especially as she was in a position to potentially know that it was Thanos operating behind the scenes much earlier than in the OTL.
