If we are talking about a remorseful Superman who has willingly submitted to judgement I feel it would quickly be ruled a case of temporary insanity, especially if the specific circumstances of his personal relationship to a pregnant Lois was made known. There is also the mitigating factor of the after-effects of fear toxin on him as well so I don't think there is a single rational person who would truly condemn him upon those revelations. At the end of the day I don't believe any charges would be laid against him, if anything his very human reaction followed by genuine remorse after would only server to endear him to the public further.
