Urgent help needed - eczema and cracked/dry lips just won’t go away

Post Body

Please, brace for a long post… but I’d really appreciate if anybody has the time to read through and maybe offer me some advice.

Before I begin, let me also start off with a disclaimer, because I know that most people’s immediate responses will be that I need to go see a doctor, nutritionist or naturopath for a professional opinion. Yes, I am currently doing this. But I also just want other advice.

Over the past year or two my lips have been chronically cracked and dry. I can’t get away with not using lip balm, they are constantly itchy and always extremely red looking. Anything I do inflames them (except for drinking water), such as eating apples and getting the acidic juice on my lips, eating lunch and having to open my mouth too wide… it’s a joke. I don’t know what’s going on, and nobody seems to be able to help me. Doctors literally tell me to just keep using lip balm until it clears up… they’re not helping me address the underlying issue and when I ask them about that they say there is nothing they can do.

On top of that, the last few months I have developed quite bad eczema under my arms, behind my legs, on my forearms, and just recently around my eye and some other areas on my face. To top it off, small patches of itchy cracked skin just seem to keep popping up all over my body, making the problem even worse. I’m currently using a Dermaid hydrocortisone cream to treat it, but again this only alleviates the symptoms and doesn’t address the underlying issue. Without it, my eczema just flares up again.

My stats: - Male - 25 y.o. - 196cm - 96.5kg - Healthy & active, workout 4-5 times per week.

Supplements (have been using for 5 years): - Creatine 5g/day - Whey protein isolate - Fish oil tabs - Vitamin D3 K2 - Keep a healthy diet and consume 2-3L of water per day.

This has been going on for too long and frankly, is just getting ridiculous. It seems like such a small thing to fix too, but I just can’t seem to get anywhere. I was thinking about taking a collagen supplement, but am unsure if this would help. Obviously, it seems like an underlying autoimmune issue, so any insights would be very helpful and much appreciated, thanks in advance.

TLDR; I’ve developed chronic cracked lips and eczema over most of my body and am seeking advice on supplements to help fix it.
