Could This Be A Panic Disorder?
Post Body

Hi everyone I just wanted to get your opinion on if this could feasibly be an anxiety/panic related issue.

Basically, over the last 4 weeks whenever I eat (except very particular things like plain Chicken and Rice) I get this tight throat/spasming sensation and shortness of breath. I've become very paranoid I've developed severe allergies. Unfortunately, this happens with basically anything that goes into my mouth. I've become quite obsessed with labels and won't touch anything that has anything in bold on the back. It's all wearing me down. I've never had any allergies before and the fact it's so many things has me thinking I've developed some kind of anxiety/panic disorder.

Does this sound feasible to you guys? Can I associate food with panic and trigger a panic attack after every meal (bar the Chicken and Rice which I have deemed "safe") I haven't had any recent traumatic event/choking episode that would do this...however my job is quite stressful and me and my partner have been arguing a lot lately.

I'm just really struggling, I'm losing a tonne of weight and I'm becoming obsessed with the thought I might die after every meal.

TL;DR: Tight throat and shortness of breath after every meal (except plain Chicken and Rice) wondering if this could be a panic response.

Thank you for helping me try to understand all this.
