I don’t know how else to phrase my question, but essentially, I’ve been working out a lot lately, focusing on weight lifting. Last Wednesday, I started experiencing pain in my left hand, making it difficult to move my fingers.
I had it checked, and the doctor diagnosed me with a severe case of tenosynovitis, where three of my fingers lock and I experience significant pain in my palm. After two orthopedic visits and one physical therapy session, I was prescribed several medications, including oral steroids because pain medication wasn't effective anymore.
So, my question is, will this condition affect my lifestyle? I asked my physical therapist, but she said it varies depending on the individual's side effects.
I’m currently on a calorie deficit and consistently monitoring my macros. Will taking steroids for the next four weeks (while undergoing physical therapy before deciding on surgery) significantly impact my health or most especially my weight?
Also, my physical therapist advised me to limit my exercises to cardio for the next four weeks to reduce pain and allow my tendons to recover. With this limitation, I'm unsure what type of exercises I should do to maintain my lifestyle; should I focus mainly on just cardio?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated and helpful.
Actually last night, I read up on straps and watched some videos. Already ordered two from Shopee. Hopefully it works for me.
How about your appetite? Did it increase when taking oral steroids? Did you gain weight?
Thank you for taking the time to reply! I appreciate it.
Hi! Thank you for this! My hand gotten better these past weeks. Though I still use my braces at night. And yes, more time on the treadmill.
Thank you for this! I appreciate it. ☺️
