What is the ideal range of rest for compound and isolation exercises?

I do 2.5 - 3 mins of rest for most compound exercise but I do rest longer for specifically for squats and deadlifting like 3-5 minutes. Then 2 - 2.5 mins for isolation exercises. Then 1-1.5 mins for abs and calves workout. I do 8 workouts for 1 - 1.5 hours depending on my body workout.

Someone told me that I don't maximize my workout because I rest too long. I did try shorter rest periods but I need to lower my weights with that exercise from my usual weights.

Is my rest periods right or not?

Me no like think too much

Sa akin, any other exercise from squat, bench and deadlift gets 2 mins of rest.
