As the title says, we promised our partner that we'd chronicle our life to try to help with our memory. This was already something we were thinking about doing cuz our memory is kinda intentionally bad in addition to already being bad, but it's getting worse. Like, we don't like remembering back cuz it causes immediate anxiety and usually panic, even if what we're remembering is a truly happy memory.
So to help not forget new things happening so much, we want to tackle this. Part of it is if we feel firmly real and in this world, it's terrifying. Being real is terrifying. So we keep that awareness and most memories behind a door that we can open whenever. That's why I say kinda intentionally bad, cuz we can remember some stuff, we just chose not to because of anxiety and panic.
I know we shouldn't rush this to minimize system destabilization but I don't want to take too long either. I'm very avoidant so we've been pushing this off for a long time.
How should I go about this? Should I try to remember stuff and just avoid the time periods I know are really triggering or should I do a time period at a time or something else?
