does anyone have tips for confessing compulsions?

i’m a big confessor. whether it’s texting someone my every thought out of fear i’m lying or needing to repeat my whole day to my partner to reassure myself of what i did, that i still remember, etc… i’m doing it ALL. THE. TIME.

does anyone have any tips on how to not do this? like any outlets you’ve found or little hacks so avoiding the compulsion isn’t so treacherous?

i’m doing ERP, and have been first practicing just noticing my compulsions or urges. now i’m trying to either sit in the discomfort of not doing them or perhaps finding an alternative that’s healthier for me.

thanks guys! the online OCD community (primarily on reddit) has really helped me navigate this so much.
