I had a really good meditation session this morning, where I was fully present with myself and it felt like pure bliss.
One thing I realised is that time felt as if it had slowed down, but in actual fact, I was just present with time itself.
One tip I have if you struggle with mindfulness and meditation, is to continually slow time down in your mind. Like you're moving in slow motion. It's like, if you saw a car drive super fast past you, you might have a hard time catching the details of the car.
But if the car were moving really slow, you'd be able to see it more clearly. Our sensations are often similar, especially if we've trained ourselves to be so automatic in our daily lives.
For example, I'm struggling to be present with my typing as I write this, because it's such an automatic and quick behavior for me. But typing really slowly and really connecting with each stroke, allows me to be mindful.
In other words, sometimes what you're doing is not as important as time itself. As long as we continue to have this mindset, mindfulness will always be difficult.
Of course living in the modern world, it's about striking a balance.
