PURRs 20th Birthday has now solidified the event as Melbourne’s largest sexy dance party and swing event!

The vibe was electric, we had people who had been with us for the full 20 years, all the way to more than 100 first timers. Many people flew in from overseas and interstate to attend.

We couldn’t be happier with the vibe in the place, and I’m still buzzing.

Our event focusses on sensuality, rather than in your face sex. People meet, dress up, dance, socialise, get sexy, and if they want to take it to the next level, they can, upstairs. That allows each person to meet their level of enjoyment and participation of where they are at that night. If they’re feeling like they want to dance, watch, or play, there is space for all.

We found sex focussed venues were too ‘in your face’ for us. So we created our own, 20 years ago. The erotic current and flow of sensual energy is more arousing to me, than walking in the door and immediately seeing people slamming each other. There are plenty of events that cater to that.

We produce curated performances, joyful upbeat music with vocals you can dance to, fun spaces to dance in like our cage (yep- we own it), podiums, and the stage, and a large dancefloor and multiple bars and toilets to access. We have a dedicated area for intimacy, it’s a seperate space upstairs, with more subtle lighting, and a bit more discreet.

Our guests are also not ‘just’ swingers. Because of our background in the nightclub scene and fashion industry. Our people come from a variety of places. They all have an interested in, or open mind when it comes to either already or potentially opening their relationships or sexuality, but there is nothing forced about it. There lies our beauty as an event I believe. People all in one place, who are healthy, happy, and open minded. Willing to explore. Not just on the ‘swingers apps’. A lot more people, and more varied than any other event you’ll come across. And because we are invite only, and members only, we don’t have ‘randoms’ in the room, doing odd things and making people feel uncomfortable. We know our crowd. Intimately.

Over 700 people attended the last event, our 20th Birthhday on the 19th of April 2024, eclipsing all other large events by more than 300! And has done so now, for the last 12 months or more. Size isn’t what matters at our event, but it does show how people are voting with thier feet, and how what we do appeals.

Our next event, is PURR Detention, theme is school uniform. Friday 14th of June. 9pm-4am at Chasers Nightclub.
