Hello there! We are new to this swinging lifestyle, we are 38M and 28F, partnered. Both of south Asian decent and bi. We have been living in Melbourne for some time so not new here. Due to our other life, we both are top end professionals, we are somewhat bit scared to try this lifestyle. Need some advice and tips on how to do this safely yet enjoying to the fullest.

Our questions are as follows:

1/ we have been thinking about BWF and Shed16 etc, but how do we still keep our anonymity? We don’t want to show our faces first to ensure there is no known people around. Will we be given some masks etc? Or can we bring some. And how would others think if we wear one?

2/ what is the usual ethnicity within these clubs? On a normal day? We suppose most would be white as expected and how would the general population would feel two brownies? This is not a racial one but we would like to know what we would expect in reality.

3/ due to our work commitments, most of the times we would only have day time free than nights or evenings. Would this work at all? If yes what day and where please.

4/ would there be any CCTV recordings at these venues? We know there would be for safety reasons, but our question is more within the play areas etc

We also thinking of probably doing with like minded people only first before heading to one of the establishments, but open to suggestions

Appreciate if someone could respond!

DMs are open too. :)

Lots of good questions a lot of them have been answered in a venue specific so for more details go digging on the subreddit :)

1) unless you go to a specific masquerade event no one will wear a mask. The lifestyle incorporates everyone (Professionals, gov officials, public servants, healthcare workers etc etc) and it's not the end of the world if you see someone you know - firstly it's incredibly unlikely, secondly it's a kind of shared secret so it makes no sense for another party to share. The negligible "risk" of running into people you know is something you're just going to have to swallow if you want to attend a venue... Unfortunately it's just the way it is.

2) check recent posts for both venues people ask this question all the time. Tldr mostly caucasian but it's very much a mix of ethnicities.

3) occasionally on weekends/public holidays things start early but events are almost always in the evenings - Fridays and Saturdays mostly.

4) cctv in common areas, not in play spaces.
