So I have some experience in working with living cultures. I have successfully made wine and bake my own sour-dough bread.
A friend is making kombucha, we started talking about it and I got interrested a bit. The bacterias/funghi mentioned in the wikipedia article that make up the scoby all seem to be pretty common and so i thought it must be possible to start a scoby without using a gifted/bought one or some unprocessed kombucha.
does anybody here have experience in this or can point me towards a guide? I do realise that it might be pretty hard and take a few tries but I'm willing to do it... for science! :D
