This is my first Kombucha from a scoby and started from a pre-made bottle of kombucha. I took a gallon of distilled water, brought to a boil, added 8 black tea bags and one cup of sugar. Brought to room temp, poured into my glass vessel and then added my bottle of Kombucha I had bought. I then forgot about it for about 3 months.
It had grown extremely thick..... I then created about gallon of sweet tea, same recipe, and added my huge scoby. Its about 5 days in and I haven't noticed any fizzing or bubbles. What do you guys think? Could it have gone dormant? It looked very healthy upon inspection
