Is IFS mixed with EMDR just correct? And everything else are just varying degrees of close or far from the best method that is IFS?
Post Body

Iā€™m very open-minded, and Iā€™ve tried soooooo many things. I know different things work for different people, but damn I just have a tough time seeing any good argument for why basic talk therapy holds a candle to IFS.

EMDR has been the shotgun tool that has helped me VASTLY with the more acute trauma, unburdening Parts that have gone through violent or traumatic experiences.

I was having a conversation with a friend about how amazing IFS is and how life-changing itā€™s been, and his answer was just ā€œyeah, different things work for different peopleā€ and I was annoyed at that response.

I think different nuances are good for people, more or less direct or intense depending on them. But every time I see or think of another method or approach Iā€™ve experienced I just see how it slightly or largely overlays on to IFS and how much better IFS is at doing the thing that another method is doing.

Idk, maybe itā€™s just benefited me and this isnā€™t the most unbiased place to discuss this but itā€™s hard not to see IFS, especially mixed with EMDR to be the best method out there.
