What do you think is "modern" psychological science?

With tons of articles and journals being written but the same general topics discussed, are we missing the purpose of research? Many professionals just write to be published or bullied by their institutions to meet a quota. Are we being desensitized to "hype" of the current go to craze? What is good science in this world of Googling and buzz words?
