How far could Jason (S12) have gone if he never had to leave Season 9?

Jason's one of the biggest what ifs for me because, looking at how he eventually became a Hell's Kitchen runner-up on a fairly talented season like Season 12, I wonder how he would have fared in Season 9, which was much less talented comparatively. I think Jason is clearly a better chef than Tommy, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Natalie, Carrie, and Jonathon were, so I could reasonably see him making a run to the final 4 in Season 9 at the very least and competing against Elise, Will, and Paul. What do you think?
