Suggestions for Home Gym Machines

Post Body

After struggling for most of my life to maintain a healthy workout routine, I've decided that it is time to finally invest in a complete home gym machine to encourage me to get moving; before you say it: I am not currently comfortable in obtaining a local gym membership due to many reasons.

My number one goal is to find a simple machine that will keep me engaged. I do own resistance bands, and enjoy the ease on my joints, my apartment is just not set up to use them to their full capabilities. I managed to maintain a yoga routine for about 6-8 months, however, I tend to get lazy, and just not do it. Procrastination is a big obsticle, however, I believe I will try my best to utilize an expensive machine in the middle of my apartment that I can use WHILE watching TV in the comfort of my own home. I guess only time will tell.

That brings us to the big debate: which machine do I choose?

Bowflex

It seems everyone loves to shit on Bowflex, however, they are still a front-runner for me. Hear me out: I am not necessarily looking to get jacked. I am a slim woman with very little body fat; it does not take much exercise for my muscles to appear defined, and my exercise routine will be more for the mental health impact than physical (although that is an excellent bonus).

Rowing Machine

Now, these are intruiging. Seems like a super simple (albiet, physically exhausting), full-body exercize with some bonus cardio. The cautions of having a perfect form are a bit intimidating, and I am concerned about doing extra damage to my back (just getting old and I work on my feet).

Other Total Home Gyms

I'm all for a complete Home Gym with weights and everything, but I am concerned about delivery, installation, and what happens when I move to a new place. Just seems like I should save my time with this machine until I have a gym membership or have a gym in my buiding.

Please help steer me in the right direction.
