Earlier this year, I met a very attractive woman on a dating app called Feeld. After learning that she was seeking a man for MFM three-ways with her husband we continued to talk on the app and via text for a couple weeks before meeting in person.
We hit it off and I made the trip from my large Minnesota city to their small Wisconsin city twice a month for several months. They'd book a hotel for us to have sex in and everything was hunky-dory for most of the last year. Back in September she came to visit and stay with me at my apartment while my wife was out of town and her husband was on a business trip (all parties were aware and cool with it). We spent a day and a half having amazing sex and going hiking and spending time together in and out of the bedroom. Then she went home and everything was different. She didn't text as often and a day before we were scheduled to see each other again she cancelled without saying what was wrong.
I let her know I was heartbroken but respected her privacy for a month before sending a text asking her to do me the favor of at least explaining what went wrong. She was just as vague, saying she just didn't "have the bandwidth" to continue seeing me. I wished her well and deleted her from my contacts.
I'm someone who values direct communication which is hard to come by in the upper Midwest. What do you think I should make of the situation? I feel used and cheap. We weren't just randomly hooking up - I thought we were becoming good friends but she ended it all so abruptly. My wife suspects that her husband was getting jealous and asked her to end it but that seems too vain of a conclusion. I know I should just move on but the abrupt rejection has been making me depressed for two months now and I feel like I'll never get real closure.
