ENM and not being open about it to family

So I am new in the ENM arena. I am married and have a partner that is online only at the moment due to gross scheduling conflicts in a nearby city.

In preparation for finally meeting and having sleepovers, I am trying to figure out how handle Daddy being out of the house some weekends to a rather intelligent 12 yo at home. Long term, I am willing to talk to her and be open, but at this time neither my wife nor I think it appropriate. My work doesn't really travel on weekends as I have already thought of that.

Yes, I know its none of her business and am aware she has no right to know. I am wondering how people who are not "out" handle overnights or frequent day trips. Thank you!
