Swipe right if you're interested, even if their profile says monogamy.

This might be slightly controversial, I'm not really sure. My wife and I have been ENM only for about 3 months so I'm still newish to this. Been lurking on this reddit during that time and I have seen people here say that unless the profile they are looking at specifically mentions some form of ENM, they swipe left.

I was doing this at first too, kinda. If it specifically said "monogamy" I'd swipe left. A lot of people actually don't put anything for relationship type. I'd only swipe right if it wasn't mentioned or it was ENM. I've got profiles on all the big apps; they all seem relatively popular in my area with no one favored. I was going through profiles on Bumble, and one things I like about it better than Tinder is that the number of likes goes down if you swipe someone left that had liked your profile and a little message pops up saying "You missed out on a potential match." Now... Bumble doesn't even have an option to select a relationship type, but a lot of people type it into their bio. After about the 5th time I swiped someone left on someone that mentioned "monogamy" in their bio only to get the "you missed a potential match" message I decided to completely ignore the relationship type someone set.

A couple days ago, on Tinder, I saw this cute girl. Her profile specifically said "monogamy". I swiped right anyway. And guess what... it was a match. We've been talking and I very early on made sure to ask "You realize I'm married and in an open relationship right?" and her response was "Yeah, I noticed and I have some questions about that." I gave her some initial info up front, she asked some questions, and we're still chatting and are potentially going to meet up at a park next Saturday to just walk and talk and see how it goes. I noticed today she changed her Tinder profile to say "Open to exploring" from the "monogamy" setting. I realize it's still very early on, but I think it's going well so far.

Just sharing an experience I had and hoping it helps someone.
