Deliriants are a subclass of hallucinogenic drugs that inhibit the proper function of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, resulting in delirium, an altered state of consciousness, and various other additional psychological and physical effects.

The term was coined in the early 1980s to distinguish these drugs from psychedelics and dissociatives respectively, due to their primary effect of causing delirium.
