Best way to dispute an old hospital bill that wasn’t charged to my insurance
Post Body

I don’t usually run my credit score, because I have a foreclosure on my record from when my ex husband stopped paying the mortgage.

I have my sights set on rebuilding my credit and hoping the foreclosure falls off in the next two years. By then, I might be ready to purchase a home and qualify for a good rate. Both of my kids will be out of college by then, and I don’t have any existing debt.

I was happy to see that I only have two matters in collections, and they are both disputable, from what I can see:

1) An old hospital bill from when I was admitted during Covid and the wrong insurance company was billed. No one ever bothered to bill the correct insurance company.

2) A cable company who had me in collections for unreturned equipment. Ultimately, I returned the equipment and have a receipt for the items. I am assuming I will get some sort of credit from the cable company but it’s been over a year and there was no credit applied.
