A while back I asked if anyone would be interested in an r/r4OlderWomen alternative, and quite a few people have responded asking for one. I have now created r/CougarsandCubsMatch, which will allow for cougars and cubs to connect through reddit. A few caveats, however:

I will admit that I am not the most subreddit-savvy person, and will need some assistance in moderating and adding features to the new sub. If any users would like to assist with this, specifically cougars, message me privately and let me know what you can assist with. Which brings me to my second point...

The older meetup sub, and even other subs such as r/cubs4cougars, seem to be very heavily male-dominated, with many cubs posting but getting little to no response, while cougars post and get flooded with responses. With such an imbalance in the posting-reply ratio, I think it would be best if this new sub were cougar-run, or at least have a dominant cougar presence. The cougars get their pick of the litter while allowing themselves to set a limit on how much attention they receive (more or less, accoding to their preference), and cubs don't get discouraged coming onto the sub, leaving a post and having it go passed over. And thirdly...

There are a variety of ways to meet new people, not just by using reddit and not just in your area. This subreddit was formed with the vision of helping cougars, cubs and kittens of all walks of life connect, no matter where they are. That's why I think it would be great to encourage more connections made over online interactions; I know nothing beats in-person interaction, but barring that, getting cougars and cubs to connect and get to know one another is a good start.
