If you need a secured card, Discover is eating Citi's lunch, fyi.

Took out two secured cards a year ago, one was a Discover it and the other was a Citi something or other, both with a $200 deposit.

Discover graduated in about 8 months Citi took about a year. Nowadays I use the Discover it exclusively, it gives me 1% cash back with an additional 1% cash back match at the end of the year 🤯 the app is super slick and user-friendly, one of the best I've ever used.

Citi graduated me to a card with no cash back, and an almost useless point system that offers very little reward. In addition, they will not allow me to do a product switch for another year, so I'm just stuck with a useless card. The app is functional, but really looks like crap compared to the Discover app.

When I called to ask about a product switch, it was clear that that support department had been outsourced to India, which is a notable factor for me. I hadn't had a reason to call Discover so I don't know if that's the case for them.

The only gripe I have about the Discover card is that Costco does not accept it.

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that discover moved my limit to $1,500 on graduation, and Citi left mine at $200, lol, making the card even more useless. I just charge a streaming service to it and leave it in a desk to never be taken out 😂
