I've been trying to apply for a credit card for a couple of weeks now and have been rejected all times. I thought it was because it was my first credit card and hence the companies were not willing to offer. But when I called the Discover customer care and asked for a reasoning behind why I'm getting rejected, they said my information was not found in the Experian database. I was applying for renting a house and in the screening report it said the same thing that my information was not found in the database. How do I rectify this? I've worked for close to 8 months where I had some form of significant income.
The only issue that I think might have occurred is that - I started working during the pandemic and since I'm an international student I didn't have an SSN prior to that and I couldn't get an SSN during the prime of the pandemic last year.
Anyone have any kind of leads on how to solve this issue, please suggest.
