Synchrony Bank sucks (Care Credit)
Post Body

Synchrony Bank is downright terrible lately w/ approvals. I don't get why they're so damn hard to get approval from all of a sudden. They run everything from Walmart, Amazon, and many other big-box retailers' credit cards.

I'm scheduled to have a root canal and noticed Care Credit is run by Synchrony. I figured hey why not take advantage of that 0% interest for 6, 12, 24 months for big bills. Especially, since I already have an Amazon store card through them and good credit. My FICO score is 720 average across the board w/ an average length of 9 years credit and one auto loan, and 2 student loans. All my 4 CCs are under 40% utilization.

Care Credit requests how much you'd like to apply for by providing an estimate of your procedure. I figured $1,000 wouldn't be too bad since my cards have even more than that credit limit wise.

We're sorry, we can't approve you for so-so reasons, we need more info to verify who you are. So I call in and ask why I didn't get instant approval. They said something about needing to verify my identity. I said, I have a card through Synchrony bank already (retail card). I gave them my address, SS#, and verified a code they sent to my phone # on file. Still nothing.

Then they say oh sorry, we can't approve you. What in the hell? Can't approve me for a measly $1,000?!

No late payments on anything for 5 years, several revolving accounts all paid on time and, nothing past due, and no negatives on my account. And I only have 1 hard inquiry in the past 2 years which was for my car loan.

This is ridiculous.
