I've been stuck around 165 lbs for over two weeks now. I'm a 32 year old man, 6'1", started losing weight at the beginning of February 2024 at 183 and my goal weight is 162. I've been trying to cut down to about 12% body fat so I can begin a long clean bulk. According to online calculators that use my weight, waist and neck measurements I was at 22% BF and am now somewhere around 14%.
In order to lose 1.5 lbs per week, I've been in a daily deficit of 750 calories and am very careful with my tracking using the Lose It app. I lift weights five times per week, one hour per session, and for the last few weeks have incorporated 30 minutes of fairly intense cardio on the elliptical machine four times per week. Once per week I'll eat at maintenance which right now supposedly is around 2,500 calories; otherwise I'm eating about 1,750 a day. I eat a high protein diet and drink one alcoholic beverage per week; I used to average about six. I've also been walking around 15,000 steps per day for the last couple of months.
Despite all of this, the scale read 166.2 lbs on April 13 and today it read 165. It's been 165 for the last ten days. I'm starting to think my scale is broken. A new one I purchased should arrive today so I'll update this post with what it says. There's no way that my maintenance is now 1,750, right? That just seems impossible given my body size and activity level, not to mention the ever-present hunger I am constantly trying to disregard. It's really upsetting me and I am starting to consider just stopping here, but I am worried that as soon as I go back to maintenance my weight will balloon up 8-10 lbs immediately. Has anyone else dealt with similar challenges or have any advice for me? I'd appreciate any thoughts you all have.
EDIT 5/3/24: You all were right; I just checked my weight and I'm at 162.5. Thank you for your help!
